2022 Ohio Primary Election Story (Senate)

A head to head comparison of the 2022 Ohio Primary gives us an idea of the break down of the voters.

Tim Ryan received 22.66% (359.94k votes) beating both JD Vance who had 21.71% (344.8k votes) and Josh Mandel who had 16.11% (255900 votes) in the overall count of votes in Ohio if the election were among these 3 candidates.

JD Vance wins 61 counties out of the counties in the state of Ohio to support his claims of his movement in the country. Tim Ryan won 15 counties and Joe Biden won just 2 counties in the state of Ohio.

These 10 counties play an important role in these primary elections. If a candidate, can get a sizable majority, it becomes very difficult to win majorities in the smaller counties with out voter out reach and increased voter participation in them.

In a head to head match up on just the total number of votes, JD Vance (57.4%) beats Josh Mandel (42.6%). Tim Ryan (58.4%) beats Josh Mandel (41.6%) and Tim Ryan (51.1%) beats JD Vance (48.9%).

Tim Ryan simply won the majority of the top 10 counties. JD Vance and Josh Mandel could not achieve a victory since Tim Ryan captures so many voters across most counties.
