3 Women Were Shot Dead Including A Friend Of The Prime Minister At A Rome Coffee Shop

A guy opened fire at a café in Rome, causing the deaths of three ladies and injuries to four other individuals. One of the victims was a friend of Italy's newly elected prime minister.

The people who were inside were attending a meeting for the residents' committee of a nearby block.

The Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, referred to the incident as a "terrible episode of violence" and said that he would be attending an emergency meeting on Monday.

A suspect, age 57, has been taken to jail. According to the allegations, he has a long history of disagreements with various members of the committee's board.

According to a story in the Italian daily La Repubblica, the vice president of the committee, Luciana Ciorba, was present at the café in the Fidene neighborhood.

According to her, the assailant had entered the club on Sunday while yelling "I'll murder you all" before pulling out his gun and opening fire. It is stated that other homeowners were able to subdue him before the police arrived and arrested him.

One individual among the four people who were hurt, thought to be two women and two men, is now in critical condition.

The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, has identified one of the victims as her close friend Nicoletta Golisano. Elisabetta Silenzi and Sabina Sperandio were identified as the two other victims who passed away.

Ms. Meloni sent a statement on Facebook in which she expressed her sympathies to Ms. Golisano's family and added that she will always remember her friend as being "beautiful and cheerful."

"Nicoletta was a protective mother, a true and discreet friend, a strong and delicate woman," she wrote."Nicoletta was a woman who was strong and fragile at the same time."

"But above all else, she was a professional with an extraordinary sense of responsibility. Nicoletta was my friend."

She continued by saying, "It's not proper to die like that. Nicoletta looked radiant and radiantly pleased in the bright red dress that she had purchased a few weeks earlier for the celebration of her fiftieth birthday. "In my eyes, she will always retain her charm and joy in that same form."

Ms. Meloni also said that a shooting range that the suspect was suspected to have taken the gun used in the assault from had been shut down and that an inquiry was now being conducted into the matter.

The motive of the suspect, who has been reported in the Italian news but has not been formally identified, has not been commented on by the police as of yet. It is not believed that the incident had a political motivation.

According to the reports, the suspect and the board of residents of the apartment complex had been involved in a heated argument for quite some time.

In October, Giorgia Meloni, the head of the Brothers of Italy party, which is on the extreme right of the political spectrum, became Italy's first female prime minister.
