2016 Georgia General Election Story

Donald Trump received 2,089,104 (50%) votes beating Hillary Clinton who gained 1,877,963 (45%) by 211,141 votes in Georgia.

She won the popular vote by 4,077,691 (4 Million). Even though she lost at the Georgia Primary, her 1,877,963 votes represents a 2.4% of her overall popular votes count. These 15 counties play an important role in these Primary elections. If a candidate, can get a sizable majority in the larger counties (Fulton, Cobb and Gwinnett), it becomes very difficult to win majorities in the smaller counties without voter outreach and increased voter participation in them.

Fulton and DeKalb, two of the larger counties voted in favor of Clinton, giving her over 186k vote advantage. Cherokee and Forsyth, other larger counties voted in favor of Trump giving him a 101k voter advantage in that county.
