2022 Maryland Primary Election Story (Governor)

Wes Moore received 22.51% (217.52k votes) beating both Tom Perez who had 20.92% (202.16k votes) and Dan Cox who had 15.88% (153418 votes) in the overall count of votes in Maryland if the election were among these 3 candidates.

Dan Cox wins 16 counties out of the counties in the state of Maryland to support his claims of his movement in the country. Wes Moore won 4 counties and Joe Biden won just 2 counties in the state of Maryland.

These 10 counties play an important role in these primary elections. If a candidate, can get a sizable majority, it becomes very difficult to win majorities in the smaller counties with out voter out reach and increased voter participation in them.

In a head to head match up on just the total number of votes, Tom Perez (56.9%) beats Dan Cox (43.1%). Wes Moore (58.6%) beats Dan Cox (41.4%) and Wes Moore (51.8%) beats Tom Perez (48.2%).

Wes Moore simply won the majority of the top 10 counties. Tom Perez and Dan Cox could not achieve a victory since Wes Moore captures so many voters across most counties.
